Privacy Policy: How Free Invoice Generator Handles Your Data
Our privacy policy explains that invoices are generated in your browser, what limited analytics and advertising data is processed, and the rights you have over it.
Last updated: 1 January 2026
1. The short version
The invoices you create are generated entirely inside your web browser. Your business details, client details, line items, logo, signature and totals are never sent to our servers, because we do not operate an invoice database. Anything you save as a draft is stored in your own browser's local storage on your own device.
2. Information we do not collect
- Invoice content of any kind, including client names, amounts and line items
- Uploaded logo or signature images
- Account credentials, because there are no accounts
- Payment card details, because the tool is free
3. Information that is processed
When you visit the site, standard technical data is processed to deliver and secure the page: IP address, browser type and version, device type, referring page, and the pages you view. We may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate usage such as which templates are most popular. Advertising partners may set cookies to measure and serve ads. If you email us, we process the contact details and message you send.
4. Local storage
Saved invoice drafts and your interface preferences, such as light or dark theme, are kept in your browser's local storage. This data never leaves your device, is not readable by us, and is removed if you clear your browser's site data. Because of this, drafts do not sync between devices or browsers — always download the PDF of any invoice you rely on.
5. Cookies and advertising
We use essential storage for site function and may use analytics and advertising cookies. Third-party advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies to personalise and measure advertising. You can control cookies through your browser settings; blocking non-essential cookies does not affect your ability to create or download invoices. See our cookie policy for detail.
6. Legal bases for processing
Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies, we rely on legitimate interests for operating, securing and improving the site, on consent for non-essential cookies and advertising personalisation, and on legitimate interests or contract for responding to messages you send us.
7. Data retention
Server logs are retained only as long as needed for security and abuse prevention. Email correspondence is retained while a query is open and for a reasonable period afterwards. Invoice content is not retained by us at any point because we never receive it.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, to withdraw consent, and to data portability. California residents may have rights to know and delete personal information and to opt out of sale or sharing; we do not sell personal information. To exercise any right, contact us using the details below.
9. Children
The site is intended for business use by adults and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. International transfers and security
The site is served through a global content delivery network, so technical data may be processed in countries other than your own under appropriate safeguards. We use HTTPS throughout, and the browser-only architecture materially reduces risk because there is no central store of commercial invoice data to compromise.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in the tool or in law. Material changes will be reflected in the “last updated” date above.
