An invoice maker is a tool that turns billing details into a formatted invoice document. You enter the parties, the line items and the terms, and the tool handles layout, numbering, arithmetic and the export file.
The distinction that matters in practice is between a document and a file you edit. A word-processor file is a page you maintain by hand: you retype the totals, you re-align the table when a description runs long, and you hope the last edit did not break the previous version. How is an invoice maker different from an invoice template?
