The export renders the same preview you have been looking at, at a higher resolution, and lays it onto A4 pages with consistent margins. The filename follows your invoice number — for example Invoice-INV-0001.pdf — so files sort correctly in a folder.
Why send an invoice as a PDF rather than a document file?
A PDF preserves layout, fonts and your logo exactly, on any operating system. An editable document file can reflow, lose formatting or be altered after you send it.
There is also a practical filing reason. Many finance teams push received invoices straight into a document management or bookkeeping system, and those systems expect PDFs. Sending a format they have to convert first is a slower path to being paid.
