Small Business Invoice Template

Who this template is for

Shops, wholesalers, installers, repair businesses and small companies invoicing other businesses. If your invoice usually has more than five lines and involves tax and delivery, this is the layout that handles it most comfortably.

What the template includes

• Header band with your business name, address, tax number and logo
• Customer billing block with space for a purchase order reference
• Filled item table with description, quantity, unit price and amount
• Totals band showing subtotal, discount, tax rate and amount, shipping and total
• Terms and payment instruction area, including bank details

Selling goods, services or both

Product lines use a unit price and a count; service lines use a rate and a quantity of hours or units. Because the table takes both, a job that involves supplying and fitting can be invoiced as one document, with the labour and the goods on separate, clearly described lines.

Keep the shipping charge on its own line rather than folding it into a product price — it is easier to reconcile against a courier bill and easier for the customer to check.
